About This Project

Anne Jin Soo Preston

As former digital media artist, I have been exploring crochet as a new art medium. I’m excited to crochet Workhorse Coffee bar in miniature. By challenging the weightlessness of yarn at such a small scale, I bring the physicality back to my work while continuing what is most important to my social practice — working and connecting with people in the immediate community and beyond.

Engage in the Exhibit

The Workhorse Coffee Bar crocheted in miniature is a month-long progressive installation in which new items will be added weekly. Anyone is invited to contribute something handmade of yarn to put into the coffee shop scene. There will be weekly workshops or yarn gatherings every Sunday from 1:00-3:00 pm. Contributions of handmade yarn objects to put into the coffee shop scene can be dropped off inside the box provided at Workhorse during regular business hours. A box full of yarn and supplies for crochet are also available to the public to use during the month of the exhibition.
